Spirit of Place: Great Blue Heron

Out of their loneliness for each other
two reeds, or maybe two shadows, lurch
forward and become suddenly a life
lifted from dawn or the rain. It is

Sarah Walked to School is the story of a second grader who, when walking to school on the first day, takes a right outside of her door and only gets to school after traversing Europe, Africa and Asia.
